5th Annual Sock Sorting Event
300 volunteers, over 106,000 pairs of socks - amazing work!
Toronto, ON – On a cold weekend in February, over 300 volunteers tagged & bagged 116,542 pairs of socks, of which 60,850 were immediately distributed to shelters & organizations in southwestern Ontario.
Collected through our third collaboration with the “Josie Dye Show’s Socks for the Streets” Campaign on Indie 88, these socks are vital for the continued welfare of the 9,000 people experiencing homelessness in the GTA.
Hosted once again at Poly 5 Plastics‘ warehouse in North York, this event was a huge success and once again exceeded all expectations!
Thank you to all who helped spread warmth comfort & mobility this winter, either by volunteering or by donating to the campaign.
One of our volunteers at the event, Mareeza, had this to say:
“The sorting event was great fun. We surprised ourselves how much we could accomplish as a team. It’s truly a wonderful thing, where a simple thing like socks, can give hope, open your heart, be kind and inspire others to do the same.”
