14-year-old #sockstar collects 500 pairs of socks!
We’d like to introduce you to a very special and true #sockstar: Sofia. Sofia has done something absolutely stunning for Socks 4 Souls Canada, and we would like to thank her.
Sofia just turned 14 in September and, instead of asking for gifts for her birthday, she wanted to do something good for her community, and she chose to run a fundraising drive for Socks 4 Souls.
For her birthday, Sofia asked her family, friends, and classmates at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School to help her collect 300 pairs of socks for homeless people across the GTA.
Well…they smashed it! Sofia ultimately collected 500 pairs of socks – nearly twice the amount she aimed for! You can see photos of her here with her fantastic sock haul. She spoke to our very own Janet de Guzman about her amazing work:
We at the Socks 4 Souls Canada team are just utterly bowled over by Sofia’s determination and generosity. We cannot do what we do without students like Sofia. Her mom says it best here:
Thank you, Sofia, for your determination, generosity, and kindness. The Socks 4 Souls Canada team could not be more grateful!
If you would like to run your own sock drive, you can find out how by visiting our sock drive page.
